Nancy Kromer

I was born and raised in Hancock, Michigan, and returned to the Copper Country in 2001.  My husband and I have built a home on the Houghton Portage Canal where my family spent their summers for three generations.  The beauty of the Keweenaw is the inspiration for my art as well as the Hot Springs area in Arkansas  where we spend our winters.

I graduated from Michigan State University, majoring in Fine Arts with a BA in Elementary Education.  While raising a family, I pursued my love of art by experimenting in various media.  My passion for watercolor was realized when we retired.

The support provided by my fellow members in CCAA and my Arkansas art group, “Brushstrokes”, continue to develop my confidence and ability as an artist.  I’ve have benefited from the ongoing instruction and guidance from some wonderful professionals.  I’ve included acrylics and collage in my portfolio; exhibiting and selling in Michigan and Arkansas.  I’ve been blessed with the experience of receiving awards at art shows.  It reminds me that others appreciate my vision of our world, which keeps me growing and challenging myself as an artist!
