The ATC movement developed out of the mail art movement & has its origins in Switzerland. M.Vanci Stirnemann is credited with popularizing the trade in 1996. Cards are produced in various media: dry media (pencils, pens, markers, chalks), wet media (water colors, acrylics), paper media (in the form of collage, found objects) and metals & fibers. The cards are traded or exchanged- NOT SOLD.
