DONNA LENARD WATERCOLORS
HANCOCK, MI 49930
Donna grew up in Arlington Heights, IL and enjoyed art in high school. She joined the work force as an optician, continuing to practice for 35 years. She moved to Rockland, MI Upper Peninsula in 1993, and started drawing birds.
She enjoyed canoeing, snowshoeing and started experimenting with watercolors. Her life dream was to live in Alaska so she moved to Fairbanks, joined the Fairbanks Watercolor Society and received good guidance as a fledging artist.
Donna was part of a very busy art scene in Fairbanks, Ester, North Pole and Denali for 9 years participating in First Friday events, juried art shows and galleries selling over 400 pieces.
She also took on personal commissions and pet portraits.
She currently resides in Hancock, MI and participates in The Poor Artist Sale, the Keweenaw Art Affair and Copper Harbor’s Art in the Park.
Donna also teaches her techniques to all who are interested in exploring watercolors. She is enjoying teaching at the Porcupine Mountains Folk School, Calumet Art Center, Miner’s Cafe in Laurium, The Community Room at Vitality in South Range, Ben Franklin in Marquette and at her studio.
She has recently been teaching drawing as well and hopes her work makes you feel tranquil.
