Class specifics:

  • Routine supplies, small amounts of glass ¼ square foot or less and “scrap” glass, and sundry materials like flux, cutting oil, cleaner, patina, and grout for smaller objects of art are included in class fee. A selection of patterns and books to look at are available, but students are encouraged to check for free patterns online, or have your own ideas/drawings; arrange to see in advance.

  •  Participants will need to purchase stained glass and major materials, like solder, lead, framing metals, work board for larger panels, or base for mosaic work, either from local stained glass/other suppliers, online, or from stock (at cost) that I have.

Caution: Hardware store solder and flux products are mostly not conducive to stained glass work so discuss materials needed with Christine before making purchases!). Online and store stained glass retailers also have full size patterns and books.

  • Contact Christine to discuss the artwork that you’d like to create, questions that you have.

  • Tool sharing (cutters, various pliers, grids, etc.) as available during class time included. (Students who have their own hand tools are encouraged to bring them.)

  •  Two glass grinders, Cutters Mate and strip cutter are set up and available to share.

The “Fine Print: Wear closed shoes with socks. NO sandals please! Bring your own safety glasses or you may borrow a pair. Long pants are a good idea. If desired, bring a beverage in a closed top bottle or cup.  Plan to have fun!Six
