Oh, that Donna! A beautiful watercolor class on Sunday, June 8th, 2025 from 12pm-2pm in our new gallery location at 117 5th Street in Calumet (right next door to Keweenaw Coffee Works}, that will keep you feeling cool as the summer heats up!
“Moonscapes” will have you feeling dreamy and cool, thinking of a frosty night under an enchanting moon with only the wind, sky and trees for sweet, silent company. This is a piece that you will definitely want to frame and hang on your wall!
Donna’s painting technique is relaxing and fun…while her sense of humor will keep you laughing the afternoon away. Her style is very loose and intuitive, so this is truly a “no stress” day of painting adventure.
All supplies are included in your $55 class fee, so no extra supplies are necessary.
To register for this very special workshop, text Donna at 906-281-5633 to reserve your seat. Don’t delay, as this class is limited to 10 students, and seats will fill quickly!

Create beautiful needle felted designs on any jacket or shirt you already have in your closet to turn it into a “boutique” beauty that you might pay hundreds for at a specialty retail store or gallery!
Join Sandy VanPatten at the new location of the Copper Country Associated Artists, 117 5th Street in Calumet on Saturday,  June 14th from 12pm-3pm for an amazing class that will take you on a fun and colorful trip into the world of needle felting.
All supplies are included in your $35 class fee, but you will need to bring your own shirt or jacket for your project piece.
Needle Felting is easy, and so much fun!! Don’t be surprised if you get addicted to this amazing and stress free technique. You’ll never look at a “plain old jacket” the same when you know what it could look like with a needle felted design added. Make items for gifts, or even to sell (at designer prices, of course…lol).
Register today by texting Sandy at 906-281-4384 to reserve your seat for this great workshop. Don’t wait, this class will fill fast!

Have you always wanted to learn how to create beautiful stained glass?! Well, longtime CCAA member and gallery artist Christine Porter is here with a very special opportunity for you!

Christine is offering three different courses that will delight and excite any stained glass enthusiast!

These classes are open to all adults. You do not need to be a member of the Copper Country Associated Artists to attend! However, these stained glass workshops are for adult art enthusiasts only. Stained glass work involves sharp implements, hot tools and grinders, and is not suitable for students under the age of 18.

Class options:
Two of her offerings are all-inclusive two session introductory classes. One is glass mosaics, in which you can make an attractive mirror or plaque, and the other is learning the Tiffany method, using copper foil and soldering, in which you’ll create an attractive piece to hang in your window. The details for these are in the class fliers below.

Or for the more experienced glass artist:
Are you interested in intermediate glass working opportunities? Christine will lead you in the art of the Tiffany method or traditional leaded method for a window panel (approx. 25-35 pieces), a mosaic tray or small tabletop, or lead wrapping or foil method for small items. This is prospectively a 6 session class so we can really have some “glassy” fun. Depending upon the works that participants wish to do class size will be minimum of 2, to a maximum of 4 or 6 persons, allowing for space use, tool sharing during class time, and everyone getting the guidance needed. Intermediate class participants will need to purchase stained glass and major materials, like solder, lead, framing metals, or base for mosaic work, either from local stained glass/other suppliers, online, or from stock (at cost) that Christine has. Routine supplies and sundry materials are included in class fee. If making small pieces (like suncatchers or candle holders) multiple items may be completed during this timeframe.

Call or text Christine to discuss the artwork that you’d like to create and your availability so that classes can get planned and coordinated for everyone who’s interested. The sessions are $35 each with a minimum of 3 sessions (smaller items, $105), or 6 sessions ($210) paid for in advance.

Contact Christine by leaving a text or voice message at (906) 281-8601, or email clpglassart@gmail.com to start discussing your creative stained glass experience.”

Have fun and create beautiful stained glass art with Christine today!
