Gary Olds

"Of all the paths you take in life, make sure a few of them are dirt." --John Muir

Gary is a multi-media artist with undergraduate and graduate degree work in fine arts.  He hails from the Copper Country of Michigan’s Upper Peninsula, an area of lakes and forests, and rich in minerals.  These surroundings influence much of his work.  For generations his forefathers were part of the iron, copper, and tin mining industries in the USA and Cornwall England.  His choice of colors often reflect how he imagines life as a hard rock miner working deep underground.

Ceramic ware:
Each piece of Gary’s ceramic ware is original and handcrafted, unique in its own way.  With proper care it will last a lifetime and beyond.  His functional dinner and drink ware is food, dishwasher, and microwave safe.  But he says they’ve never done well when dropped on floor—don’t do that.  Also avoid harsh abrasives or thermal shock (like going directly from the refrigerator to the microwave, or vice versa).
